Pre-Modern Commentaries

by Matt Quintana

A collection of commentaries by authors from the pre-modern era—including theologians from the patristic, medieval, and Reformation periods. While many pre-modern authors discuss texts of Scripture at length in various writings (e.g., letters, philosophical treatises, etc.), the present list is intentionally limited to works that are more specifically biblical commentaries, collections of homilies, or book-length treatments of a biblical text. This library only includes works translated into English, not critical editions of the original texts. This collection has 202 books in 54 categories.
