Introducing Israel's Scriptures

Fortress Press is excited to announce a new collection of textbooks introducing the major components of the Hebrew Bible. Written for use in topical undergraduate elective courses or seminary survey courses, these books share a common organization. Written by an ecumenical array of respected scholars, these volumes will provide fresh, student-friendly explorations to the writings of the Hebrew Bible and to contemporary scholarship on them. Each volume describes the historical and cultural context in which the writings originated; introduces important episodes, characters, and themes in each book; and addresses issues of contemporary interpretation and debate. Each volume invites the student, regardless of religious orientation, into conversation and exploration of the biblical heritage.
