I found Oden's citations and quotations of the church fathers very helpful.

Great pastoral commentary to be used for preaching and understanding Exodus. Stuart includes a solid amount of historical information. This is my first choice when going through Exodus.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Donald Williams' thoughts in this commentary. This certainly has a devotional impact. Great for preaching through the Psalms. I believe these are the same as the "communicator commentaries."

Solid commentary. I consulted his commentary regularly while preaching through the Gospel of Mark.
