Reviews
Currid is a Reformed scholar who treats the text thoroughly. He emphasizes practical application and a redemptive focus on Christ.

Very good!!! Maintains literal (6 x 24hrs) creation account
Derek Thomas provides a very strong recommendation for this two-volume set which he says features “easy to read yet biblically robust expositions that seek to bridge the gap between technical and popular commentaries.” Currid advocates Mosaic authorship and a literal six-day creation.

Easy to read yet biblically robust expositions that seek to bridge the gap between technical and popular commentaries. Upholds a literal, six-day creation account and provides a helpful introduction to 'seed-theology.'
This commentary is thorough, yet readable. He offers a reasonable approach to the so-called redemptive-historical reading of the Old Testament, which sees the story of the Old Testament climaxing in the person and work of Jesus Christ. The series is aimed at the pastor and the layman, and this commentary does not disappoint. Its explanatory power (those wonderful "aha" moments) is great. In fact, this commentary was one of my top four or five favorite commentaries on Genesis when I preached through the book. Highly recommended.
