The revised edition is quite technical, with ample notes on textual-critical issues, linguistic and grammatical matters, and questions of translation. Watts also gives considerable attention to the literary structure of Isaiah, approaching the book as a major unified literary corpus and emphasizing its dramatic character. The commentary engages extensively with form, structure, contemporary scholarship upto early 2000s etc. Overall, it is a solid and detailed technical commentary.
