Nonconformity's Romantic Generation: Evangelical and Liberal Theologies in Victorian England

This is a study of the theological development of key leaders of the Baptist and Congregational denominations at their period of greatest influence including C.H. Spurgeon and R.W. Dale and of the controversies in which those among them who embraced and rejected the liberal transformation of their evangelical heritage opposed each other.
