Comments: E. W. Bullinger, well-known for his Figures of Speech, Companion Bible, and many other scholarly works, wrote the outstanding commentary on the Apocalypse. As usual, he provided tireless scholarship to this work. If the reader wishes to understand the book of Revelation, this is the commentary to read. The strength of his commentary is its reliance upon the scripture in its context, comparison of scripture with scripture, and its historical background. Throughout the work Bullinger employed a consistent, sound hermeneutic. One will find no exegetical legerdemain in this work. Although written over a hundred years ago, no other commentary can match it. It is the standard, in a league of its on, and is the essential commentary on Revelation for the serious student of the Bible.
