Faith as a Theme in Mark's Narrative

This book shows Mark's purpose to be broadly pastoral. His intent is to instruct and strengthen the faith of his readers. He accomplishes this by involving them in the study of Jesus in such a way that those features of his teaching and example, which Mark has chosen to narrate, are experienced as directly relevant to their present needs. This book for the academic/scholar is based on a doctoral thesis and contains non-transliterated Greek, indices, footnotes, and bibliography.
