Veneration: Unveiling the Ancient Realms of Demonic Kings and Satan's Battle Plan for Armageddon Paperback – November 22, 2019
Purchase options and add-ons
It stirreth up the Rephaim for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth;
It hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations. (Isa. 14:9)
There were giants in the earth in those days. The same became mighty men which were of
old, men of renown.
These were the heroes of legend; kings and warriors called Rephaim, whose deeds inspired
worship long after they passed from the earth, a false, demonic religion that corrupted God s
chosen people even before they entered the Promised Land.
What s more, the prophets of Israel foretell a day when these mighty men return from Sheol to fight
alongside the Antichrist at the Battle of Armageddon.
In this groundbreaking book, husband and wife authors Derek P. Gilbert and Sharon K. Gilbert show
how the giants of old shaped the worldview and religion of the Hebrews and the terrifying role
they ll play in the end times.
Veneration reveals:
The importance of ancestor worship among the Canaanites
Concealed references to the Rephaim throughout the Bible
Why God forbade necromancy and consulting mediums
How veneration of the dead brought disaster on the Israelites
Pagan gods of the underworld and the realms of the dead
Hidden prophecies of the destruction of the Rephaim and the Watchers
The dark purpose of royal gardens in the ancient world
Why God stopped the building of the Tower of Babel
The demonic origins of the heroes of Greek mythology Parallels between ancient cults of the dead and the modern UFO phenomenon
The return of the Nephilim at Armageddon
Drawing on Mesopotamian texts, peer-reviewed academic research, and, most of all, the Holy Bible,
the Gilberts explode the long-held belief that the Nephilim were simply a Hebrew
myth. Veneration shows that the prophets, apostles, and early church clearly understood the
profound historical, theological, and prophetic impact of the mighty men who were of old.

Review
Derek and Sharon Gilbert are amazing authors who are gifted with encyclopedic minds, especially when it comes to in-depth Bible research. In Veneration, the Gilberts lay out one barnburner revelation after another that will bathe your soul in stunning biblical illumination. This is not a mere church Sunday-School lesson. Far from it! But it is a message that every church, and every Christian needs to hear. Read this book with a highlighter pen in hand. You are getting ready to be plunged into the very heart of spiritual warfare, and to a level of biblical understanding we were meant to have from the beginning. --Pastor Carl Gallups, author of Gods of the Final Kingdom and The Rabbi, the Secret Message, and the Identity of Messiah
The ritual communion with the dead is a perennial feature in world cultures. From the prehistoric Natufian and Anatolian cultures, the Ancient Near East, Greece, and Rome to myriad societies through history, the placation of revered dead by the living has found expression time and time again. Yet, what is the origin of such rites and by what mechanism do they achieve survival in modern observances such as Halloween and Day of the Dead? In Veneration, Derek and Sharon Gilbert offer a chilling and sobering look through the Biblical lens at the ancient worship of the dead and its foundations in the sin of the Watchers and the spirits of their dreaded progeny. --Dr. Judd H. Burton, Director of the Institute of Biblical Anthropology, author of Interview With the Giant

About the authors
Derek P. Gilbert hosts Five in Ten, a daily analysis of the news for SkyWatchTV, and co-hosts the weekly programs The Bible's Greatest Mysteries and Unraveling Revelation with his wife, author and analyst Sharon K. Gilbert.
Derek is a Christian, a husband and father, and the author of the groundbreaking books ‘Bad Moon Rising,’ an analysis of the spiritual forces behind Islam, ‘The Great Inception,’ and ‘Last Clash of the Titans.’
He’s also the co-author with Sharon K. Gilbert of 'Giants, Gods & Dragons,' a new take on end times prophecy that names the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, and ‘Veneration,’ a deep study on the ancient cult of the Rephaim. Derek has also co-authored ‘The Day the Earth Stands Still’ with Josh Peck, which documents the occult origins of “ancient aliens.”
Derek's new book is 'The Second Coming of Saturn,' which exposes the many faces of the Roman god Saturn and his role during the end times.
Science, writing, opera, and geopolitics are just a few of the many ‘hats’ worn by Sharon K. Gilbert. Gilbert is the author of the non-fiction work Ebola and the Fourth Horsemen of the
Apocalypse; The Laodicea Chronicles, a novelized look at the spiritual battle set in current time; The Armageddon Strain, a biological thriller that blends science and the supernatural; and her most recent endeavor The Redwing Saga, a supernatural warfare series set in England during the time of Jack the Ripper. Gilbert is also a regular contributor to Tom Horn’s immensely popular multi-author books, including Blood on the Altar, God’s Ghostbusters, I Predict, and When Once We Were a Nation. She is married to SkyWatchTV’s host and news anchor Derek P. Gilbert, and the two have shared their talents and insights for over a decade with their own Christian podcasts, PID Radio, Gilbert House Fellowship, and View from the Bunker.
In addition to co-hosting SkyWatchTV’s flagship interview program and SkyWatch TV’s Sci-Friday each week, Sharon also hosts the new programs, SkyWatch Women and SkyWatch Women One-on-One. Sharon’s been following and studying Bible prophecy for over fifty years, and she often says that she’s only scratched the surface. When not immersed in Bible study, a writing project, or scouring the Internet for the latest science news, you can usually find Sharon relaxing in her garden with the Gilberts’ faithful hound, Sam T. Dachshund.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 17, 2020There are many traditions. Some are benign, some not. The Gilberts are both fine writers and presenters of valuable information in the areas of science and theology. Their researches involve not only what some refer to as religious topics, they delve into the science, archeology, linguistics, history behind a topic.
"Veneration" is a continuation of extensive research by both. It is important from a historical perspective as to where and why certain traditions originated, continued in some form or fashion for less than clear reasons, and why they are resurgent in this present day.
This book has copious end notes. They have relied on a broad range of scholars and their works. As pointed out by the Gilberts, some of this information has only been uncovered and translated in the past 60 years.
This is topical information for a Christian. It's acceptance depends upon the maturity of the reader.
I highly re ommend this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 30, 2020About the authors: Every time I listen to or read anything by Derek and Sharon Gilbert, I always learn something that opens up the world around me and most importantly, the Bible's hidden mysteries. The author's know their topics, are well researched and I love how they share back and forth as if they truly always enjoy each other's company. You won't only come away with newer understandings with their books, podcasts, shows, conferences,...but their marital relationship is sincerely respectable and loving and makes you want the same kind of relationship in your own marriage. If you don't catch on the first time to what they're talking about in Veneration, don't worry, it will be explained differently several times throughout, so that you can understand and make sense of it all. Truly helps when you learn what "the powers and principalities" really are, and why people from the beginning of time, are deceived into venerating the dead...
- Reviewed in the United States on October 2, 2020Great book detailing the gods of the pagans & returning during our time as we are in the last days. I have learned a lot that I have not known or heard of until about ten years ago.
As prophesied in Daniel, there is an explosion of knowledge that helps in our eschatological understanding!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2023Veneration is the second or third book in the Gilbert's series on our supernatural past. You know all the myths about gods? Or the ignored verses in the Bible that talk about other gods an entities? The Gilberts have been chronicling the truth behind these stories.
Where the modern world, at its own peril, pretends the supernatural is fantasy, the Gilberts show we should treat these stories as history. They write from a Christian perspective, but all who read this will reconsider the nature of the world. The authors trace a straight line from prehistory to the modern era, and then the future, regarding the supernatural world.
If this isn't your first Gilbert book, there is some repetition between books. Veneration, Last Clash of the Titans, and The Second Coming of Saturn are all addressing the same subject, each with a slightly different focus. All three together will give a solid study few others are writing about. Hopefully, the publisher will recognize the need for adding an index to these books to make it easier to refer back to them and to study.
See also Reversing Hermon (Heiser), Return of the Gods (Cahn), The Unseen Realm (Heiser), and the novels of Brian Godawa and Darrick Dean that explore these truths in fiction.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 6, 2020What a team these two make. Derek and Sharon are the consummate researchers and this book certainly proves it. I was so excited to start reading this book because I have developed a curriculum on Spiritual Warfare called "Warfare Bootcamp " and this book was an invaluable resource for me. This book just ties a lot of loose ends for me in my research for my studies and I am so grateful to both of these highly intelligent anointed writers. I mean this from the bottom of my heart Derek and Sharon you are in my prayers and thank you for your diligence and obedience to serving God and the Body of Christ. Billy B.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 10, 2022This book is well written, researched, and has plenty of footnotes to help you see where the researchers have found their information. If you are looking to understand how things are the way they are then this book will be a great help. There is a firm Biblical foundation for everything you read in this book. It can also help you to understand what is coming in our future. I highly recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Veneration
What an interesting book and well researched. This book made me think and I plan to look more deeply into a few areas that I've read about. Venerationwas particularly helpful in having a Biblical timeline woven through the chapters to place biblical events into the surrounding history of the day. Anyone interested in the last days and spiritual warfare will be blessed and challenged by reading Veneration. This book was also helpful in seeing how the gods and goddess have changed their names over time!
