Top Highlights

“In many ways, this is what Paul is doing in the letter he writes to Titus. He is giving us a vision of a life that touches people in small but decisive ways—a life that has eternal consequences. He is setting out the truly good life.” (Page 9)

“Eternal life is brought to light in preaching. The eternal promise of God appears when we share the gospel. Eternal life appears in your town when you speak about Jesus.” (Page 24)

“In the Greek language, ‘Cretan’ became a by-word for dishonesty: ‘to Crete’ was to lie.” (Page 45)

“The answer is probably both. This is a virtuous cycle. Faith leads to hope and hope sustains faith. The more we trust Jesus, the more confident our hope will be. The more confident our hope is, the easier it is to look beyond our present circumstances to trust Jesus.” (Page 21)

“It is much more likely to be talking about the goal of Paul’s ministry; to bring those whom God has chosen to saving faith. He preaches the gospel to everyone, confident that those whom God has chosen (God’s elect) will respond with faith.” (Page 15)
