- Reviewed in the United States on June 5, 2013The book contains many documents that share parallel content and style with the Old Testament. All of those countries carried on diplomatic and trade relations with one another and "Babylonian" was the diplomatic language used among these related language groups. jw
- Reviewed in the United States on June 24, 2013I highly recommend this book but have vol 1. I have been studying the 1st century Believers and these books have helped me alot in my search for the truth. enjoy and yes I would order from them again
- Reviewed in the United States on August 30, 2014Neat old book. Informative, plenty of illustrations, and I especially like the late 19th early 20th century layout. Great companion to any Bilblical and pre-Biblical archaeology study.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 1, 2013another great tool for those who are constant researchers, striving for accuracy and a clear picture into the past and get a sense of life of there times
- Reviewed in the United States on June 30, 2016There was a bible course on line and this book was suggested along with another I still need to order to do the course and get the discipline to even take the course. This is a hard read, but starting to get into it and understanding how it is set up. After only just beginning to read it seems to me to be myths of ancient times that follow the bible. A reference to the bible is found in the margin. I find the bible to be the most fascinating book of all. One word can take you on a long journey of study. Altho we live under the new law, the New Testament...I so love the Old Testament, its history, culture, traditions, etc. For me to better understand the New Testament is to have the understanding of the Old Testament.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 6, 2018Arrived as described, and super fast!

3.0 out of 5 stars This is NOT volume 1, but abridged vol1 and 2.
My problem is the info given. It is not volume 1, but an anthology taken from both volume 1 and 2. It does not contain all of volume 1 by any means. I bought this from a charity seller - otherwise I would return it.
